Easter and a Messy House!

The last couple weeks Jake and I have been sick with strep throat and sinus infections. It was so miserable. The body aches were TERRIBLE and we just haven't had any energy. The house has definitely suffered through all of the sickness. I began to realize though that I can clean and clean and there will always be dog hair and fingerprints on everything. I guess that's what happens when you have a dog and a toddler that likes to touch everything.

We bought this brush to get a lot of hair, it is called the furminator and was $60 but is so worth it. Sequoia loves to be brushed. She will sit for an hour while I brush her. And looking at the next picture you can tell it gets A LOT of hair out. I plan on getting her shaved this summer.

The day before I cleaned the stainless steel and they are now covered with baby handprints. O well!

We had a great Easter despite the gross weather. On Saturday we went to our neighborhood easter egg hunt. Kambree wasn't sure what to think about it all. Then on Sunday we let her find her basket by making a trail of eggs to lead her to it. She really liked this and ate way too much candy!

Sleepy eyes, but I had to show that Bree has enough hair to do pigtails now.

Our neighbor, Patrick, excited about finding eggs.
She couldn't stay standing, I think the coat was a little too big.

Farm Country

We had wanted to go to the zoo but I was sick all weekend with a sinus infection and strep throat and wasn't feeling up to doing much. It was a lot of fun and Kambree of course loved all the animals. She even rode on the pony this time without crying and kicking her feet. Probably because Jake was there with us this time. She seems to be more daring when he is around.

Look how cute this little guy is! So adorable.

Not too sure about this big fellow.

We made sure we petted some horses before going over to the pony ride.

Playing peek-a-boo with Daddy.

Ok so maybe I was more excited about the pony then she was. :)

Ever since Kambree started walking last week she keeps picking up my diaper bag and tries to put it on her shoulder and walk around with it like I do. It is way to big for her and she ends up just falling over. Well today one of my students was playing with this purse that I bought for Kambree when she was 6 months old. She didn't like it much then but loved the doggy that was inside it. Now she absolutely loves it. She thought it was so neat when I put it on her shoulder to show her how to use it. She hasn't put it down since.

And off she goes shopping!

Boy that girl can eat!

Kambree LOVES to eat! She is super independent and wants to feed herself all the time. The other day I left the fridge open for a second and the next thing I hear was a thump. I looked down and she had fallen backwards after climbing up to the first shelf to get the half of banana I had left from breakfast. Jake and I were laughing so much that she actually was able to get it. Bananas are her favorite food right now. She just laid there as happy as could be trying to eat it. (Even with the peel still on)

Yes the bib says "Spoil Me". And I think we do it a little too much. :)

This is Kambree's favorite place to sit. These two are best of friends.

I told you it was any day now :)

We just got home today from our trip to Idaho. Jake and I decided to practice walking some more with Kambree. She struggled as usual at first and then it just started to work. She was able to take about 8 steps! She was so excited and kept clapping for herself.  I would laugh at her and she thought it was fun to imitate me laughing so she would throw her head back just like I do when I laugh. The best part was that when we were done practicing and just sitting around she kept standing on her own and would start walking all by herself, it was so great to see how happy she was to be doing something new.

I just love this face, she looks like she has no idea what you are doing.

The first big steps, she walked all the way down the hall. She was so happy.

Laughing just like mom!

Idaho Trip

This weekend we got to go to see Mike and Sue's new house. It was a beautiful house and was a lot of fun!  The weather wasn't as warm as I heard it was in Utah but it was still nice. I fell in love with their neighbor's dog and went over everyday to see if I could go walk her. I think I just felt bad that she was in a kennel all day long. It was fun to make some new friends though. Jay and Clara are an older couple who invited me into their house to show me pictures of their grandkids and Jay showed me a 78 pound fish he caught in Alaska. I should have taken a picture of it. It was huge! Here are some fun pictures from Sunday when we went to walk around the Idaho Falls Temple.

                                                                The whole Family!

Kiddos being silly

and cute

and lovey!

So we were all looking at the ducks and then we looked down and DJ had pulled down his pants. He really had to go I guess! You can tell we all thought it was hilarious.

Kambree looking shocked by what she just saw!

It Died!

It was losing it's steam the last few days from turning the fan on while I worked out. The air from the fan sucked it in a couple of times and it sounded like the ceiling was falling down on us. So yes I took the scissors to it. :( So sad, but it was time. Balloon lived 2 months long.

Game night with the Carlile's

Last night we had Jake's mom over for a birthday dinner. It was a lot of fun. Jake's mom wanted to play Ticket to Ride since she had just played it with Jake's brother who lives in Idaho. We were really surprised she liked this game because it is a little difficult at times to understand and she often doesn't understand games. Well basically she didn't really get the strategy of this game either and was collecting half the deck of cards. It was so funny and we kept teasing her about it. She didn't care at all though, she was having the time of her life. And that made it so worth playing.

Jake's Grandma Van was able to come as well. She kept telling us how PERFECT Kambree was. She couldn't believe how she played the whole time and never got fussy. Good thing she doesn't know the truth! She also couldn't believe how many new "gadgets" they have for babies now. And she also was shocked that jake took care of her so much and knew what she needed all the time. I guess she comes from a generation when men weren't as involved with rearing their children. Kambree loved her.

Marie, Jake's sister, also was able to come. Kambree loved her as well. It was a great night. Happy Birthday Cynthie.
