Well the title is finally some time to blog. Even though that means doing it in the middle of the night! Jake is working an extra graveyard shift tonight so I thought I would do a little catch up.
Well TROUBLE has started getting into EVERYTHING at our house. This little guy will not stop! He is all boy. Always on the go, always wanting food, and always into mischief. But we can't get enough of his smiles, laughs and rolls on his thighs.
My cute preschool class this year. I have a few students who only come on Wednesdays but I haven't got their class picture yet. I love these kids! They always crack me up and make my day so much happier.
Annual camping trip! I think next year we for sure need to go when it is warmer. The last 2 years we have gone in September. I love this time of year because all the leaves are changing colors and it isn't quite so busy. But little Ash man can not handle the cold! After a night of non stop crying we headed back home to our warm beds. Hopefully he will appreciate the great outdoors more next year. :)
Asher loves snuggling with Yia Yia.
Both sides of the family except for Mike and Sue and the kids. So happy our families get along so well so we can just do one family gathering :)
Dirty Dash race! This was one of my favorite races. The best part was the giant slip and slide at the end. I could have played on it all day long.
Before race
After raceKristy's first race! Way to go girl you did awesome!
Marathon
Well I trained and trained and then race day got here. It was one of the hardest things I have every done. The day started out great until I realized my IPOD was totally dead. (As in I need a new one) I was really bummed because I always run with music and it just helps me get in the zone. So I ran 10 miles with no music until Jake met up with me and lent me his. The hills at the beginning were pretty tough and the wind was so strong. I felt like I was barely moving up those hills and I was pretty exhausted right at the beginning. At mile 13 I felt a blister on my toe. It hurt so bad but I kept running until mile 18. When I pulled my shoe off to check it I soon realized it had popped and was bleeding a bit. After a band aid, I felt ready to go again. Soon after this I came to a station that they hosed you off with water. I wasn't thinking and ended up getting Jake's IPOD all wet. And guess what? It turned off and now we get to buy him a new one too. So the last 6 miles were no music and me giving myself pep talks to make it to the end. Surprisingly those last 6 miles were the best. I felt a burst of energy and felt so excited to be so close to my goal. At the end my family was cheering for me and little Kambree ran over to hold my hand and run to the finish line with me. It was such a rewarding feeling!
So: Do I want to run another Marathon? Yes I do, but not soon. I am ready for a new challenge and something different at this time. But I really did love this race even though it was a killer. To top it all off, Jake bought me some shoes that I have wanted so much. It was so nice to see a new pair of bright happy shoes after so many miles in my other ones.
Finally done! I don't really like this picture at all of me. I wish I could be one of those people that look gorgeous after running but unfortunately, I am not one of them.
Kambree ran in the kids race. She ran the whole thing and never stopped. I am so proud of my little girl!
Last but not least after a long post. A picture of me with my kiddos in their Halloween Costumes.
Happy Halloween!
