Miss Independent again....

I thought I would share a couple of stories about Kambree. As most of you know she fell out of a cart at Costco a couple weeks ago. All because she always stands up in the cart and we are constantly telling her to sit down. It was a pretty bad fall and left some severe battle wounds. She still has black eyes about 3 weeks later.

Sort of weird how the pictures don't seem to show how black and blue she really was. So many people kept asking her what happened to her head. I love how last week at nursery the kids were asking what happened to her since she had a band aid on. Her teachers told them she had a boo boo, so the entire class kept saying they had one too and wanted a band aid as well.

The other crazy thing that happened today was when we were at our neighborhood park for a Trunk or Treat. Jake and I suddenly had no idea where Kambree was. We were looking all over the place and told a bunch of friends that she was missing. Everyone was looking around and I started to fear the worst when she hadn't shown up after about 10 minutes. It was at that moment that I saw a lady from the area walking over with her. She told me that she had found Kambree on the other side of the neighborhood. Kambree told her that she had walked home but the door was locked so she then started to roam the streets! She wasn't crying and wasn't scared at all. When I told her how she always needed to tell me where she was going and to stay close by she replied with, "uh huh mom, I was naughty. " I tried not to smile so she would know how serious I was. :)

We have had so much fun this week. Halloween is so exciting this year because Kambree just loves all the parties and candy. Everyday she tells me she is going to go Trick or Treating. I just love seeing how happy she is. She even likes all the spooky decorations and will grab my face and turn it when she sees something spooky saying, "Look mom, look! Mean Witch!" Who knew it could be this much fun to be a parent. I always dreamed of it, but didn't quite realize just how fun it could be.

Our GIANT carrots! We left them in the garden a little too long but luckily they still taste great.

Asher had rice cereal for the first time this week. He really likes  the different texture to chew on.
Also, it's a little too soon to tell but it looks like he will have brown eyes just like Kambree. I love it because Jake and I both have blue eyes and my kids have brown eyes like my mom did. Every time I look at them I think of her.

Our pumpkins we carved. The MEAN WITCH pumpkin and Snow White. I did the Snow White. It was a lot of fun but hard to be so detailed.

Jake made the Mickey Mouse pumpkin. It looks fantastic.

Kambree loved the pumpkins and loved taking pictures with them. She is so funny! I hope she always makes me laugh this much.

After Jake and I finished she wanted to hang the pictures up that we had used to make the stencil.

Man, I love this girl! Tonight when we were done it was pretty late. 10:10 to be exact. I was trying to hurry and get her to bed. As I was leaving to shut the door she help up her hand like a stop sign and said. "No Mom, I need to tell you I lub you!" So I made sure to go give her a hug and kiss as she got to say, " I lub you so much mom!" I am such a lucky person to be given these precious children. Life is great! (Even on the crazy days when I want to rip my hair out :) )

I want to be a mean witch!

I asked Kambree a month ago if she knew what she wanted to be for Halloween. She told me she wanted to be a mean witch! Probably because we sing a song called " I'm a mean old witch with a hat". So while I was at Carter's one day I found a cute outfit that I thought would look great as a witch. We decided to go to Gardner Village yesterday to take pictures of the kids in their costumes. It was a lot of fun. Kambree was so excited to see all the witches they had on display. She was running all around screaming "Another witch mom!" I think my favorite quote of the day came from this lady that was watching us take pictures. She reminded me a lot of Jake's mom. She said, "oh, I need to go see that cute little girl!" She then told us how adorable she was and that she really wished she had a camera so she could take a picture of her. I thought it was pretty funny because a year ago I took pictures of Kambree at the same place and some random person asked me if they could take a picture of her. I guess they enjoy the fiery little red head :)

The hat started to hurt her head so Noni and Yia Yia decided to wear it!

This one was her favorite! She kept telling everyone that the witch was pooping! As she laughed  :)
It is so hard to get a true smile lately from her. She likes to stick out her tongue or scrunch her face all up.

 Chubster looking adorable!

I guess she needs some more candy :) She was so done with taking pictures and just sat there like this no matter how much of a fool I made of myself.

Chunky Monkey and Pretty Princess

This week has been a bit of a surprise for me. I always knew that Asher was a big boy I just didn't realize just how big he really was! Today was his 2 month appointment and they measured him at 23 inches and he weighed 14.5 pounds. I had him covered with a blanket and when the doctor came in the room he said, "Let me see this boy, he doesn't look that big". That was until I took off the blanket and he said, "Oh yes, he is growing great!" He is in the 92nd percentile for weight. I absolutely love those chunky legs and arms. He loves when I nibble on them and can't help but laugh and smile.

We also went to Disneyland last week. Kambree has never really been into princesses. She normally loves balls, cars and things that boys usually love. I always call her my little Tom boy. But she does love Snow White, or as she calls her "Snow Wipe". When we got to Disneyland she got so excited to see and hug all the princesses. She even picked out the princess action figurines for her souvenir to take home. I was completely shocked into how girly she was becoming. She was so excited to meet Snow Wipe and even got a kiss from her. It was such a fun trip. I am bummed to be home.

Some of my favorite things

There is something about pictures that just make me happy. Especially pictures that capture such wonderful memories. I am looking forward to putting some of these up in our house. We have loved having Asher in our home. He is such a joy and such and easy going baby so far. The only thing that has been hard was that I was super sick for a few days with mastitis and then Kambree has had some sort of stomach bug all week. I think a mixture of being stuck in the house and some baby blues has made life a little down lately, but we are so happy and couldn't ask for anything else in life. We are truly blessed to be given these two precious children. God is so loving and kind! He has given us so much, we are so grateful for his grace and love.
